Kiss was signed to the Casablanca Records label in 1975 when they released their Dressed to Kill album. The record company was experiencing severe financial hardships. So much they couldn’t afford a professional photographer and photo shoot for the album cover.
The band went and stood on a New York City street corner to let a friend take a photo for the cover. It’s actually a picture snapped of the picture being taken that’s iconic. This kid is staring up at these grown men in makeup and ill-fitting suits trying to figure out what the hell he’s seeing.
