A new career-spanning box set is coming out this Fall from Thin Lizzy. It’s called Rock Legends and the 6 CD/ 1 DVD package features 99 tracks including 74 previously unreleased recordings. Compiled by Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham and Thin Lizzy archivist Nick Sharp from a collection of newly discovered tapes, the collection includes singles, rarities, demos, rough mixes, radio sessions and a disc of unreleased live recordings from the band’s 1980 Chinatown tour. The DVD contains the hour long “Bad Reputation” BBC documentary and the band’s legendary performance on the 1976 Rod Stewart TV special “A Night On The Town’. The box set also includes replicas of the band’s tour programs bound into a hard-backed book, Phil Lynott’s popular poetry books, 4 prints by legendary Thin Lizzy cover artist Jim Fitzpatrick and a book with quotes by all the members of the band about their experiences playing with Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott as well as comments from some very famous Thin Lizzy Fans like Slash, Lemmy Kilmister, Geddy Lee, James Hetfield from Metallica and more. It’s all housed in a 10 inch by 6 inch slipcase. The new Rock Legends box set comes out October 23rd.
